Get The Look
ELLIS + PERCH
One of our most popular looks is a pairing of the Ellis and Perch Lights. To achieve this look, we recommend hanging the wide Ellis and standard width Perch fixtures according to the following guidelines.
To get started, you will need to decide the distance between the bottom of each fixture and your counter or tabletop. We recommend that the lowest fixture is 30"-36" above a counter or tabletop, taking into account the height of the people in your household, and how you will use the space. If these fixtures will be hung over an island and you will be standing at your island more often than sitting, we recommend hanging your fixtures at the higher end of the suggested range.
To calculate the overall height (OAH) for each fixture, you will need to confirm the height of your ceiling and table or countertop. Once this information has been confirmed, refer to the formula below calculate the OAH for each fixture.
For example, if you have an 8ft (or 96”) ceiling and you would like the lower light to be 36” above your 36”h countertop, the formula to determine each pendant OAH is below:
Ellis Light OAH = Ceiling height (96”) - counter height (36”) - 36” clearance above countertop = 24” OAH
Perch Light OAH = Ceiling height (96”) - counter height (36”) - 41” clearance above countertop = 19” OAH
Finally, you will need to confirm the distance between each fixture. The lights shown below are placed 18" apart, measured from the center of each canopy.
